WINNIPEG – Almost a half million Manitoba motorists could see a slight decrease in their insurance premiums next year, but the savings for many will be minimal.
Manitoba Public Insurance said Friday it was reducing the rates for about 400,000 prviate passenger vehicles by .1 %. The average premium for passenger vehicles is currently $976, if approved, the new premium would be $975, a savings of one dollar.
MPI says owners of other vehicles could save as much as $50 dollars on their premiums in 2016-2017.
The rate changes are subject to approval by the Public Utilities Board.
