Montreal police investigate hit-and-run accident

WATCH: Montreal police are still looking for the driver who fled after hitting a 4-year-old girl Tuesday afternoon. In an effort to gather more information and reach potential witnesses, they have set up a command post at the corner of De Lormier and Rouen right where the accident happened.

MONTREAL – Police are investigating after a 4-year-old girl was injured in a hit-and-run on Tuesday.

The incident happened at the corner of De Lorimier Avenue and De Rouen Street just after four in the afternoon.

The little girl was on her way to the park with her mother when she ran ahead.

She was struck by a driver who then contnued on without stopping.

She suffered sever head injuries but is now in stable condition.

Police are asking for the driver to come forward.

They are looking for a male suspect in his 50s with long grey curly hair.

He was driving a dark vehicle.
