CALGARY – An inquiry begins Monday into the death of Jean Warden – an elderly Calgary woman who died due to severe malnutrition six years ago.
83-year-old was checked in to hospital in September of 2005 after her family began to worry about her health; she was diagnosed with malnutrition, dehydration, muscle wasting, and several other medical problems.
She died later that month.
A provincial investigation did not find any evidence of neglect or abuse at the care facility.
Her family hopes the inquiry will provide them with some answers about what happened.
