EDMONTON — Edmonton Police said a nine-year-old girl reported missing earlier on Sunday was found at a south Edmonton restaurant.
Percephony White was reported missing after disappearing around 9:30 a.m. from the Health Sciences LRT station in south Edmonton. Police issued a plea to the media to get the word out in time for the evening news, and shortly after 6 p.m. several tips were called into EPS.
The child was found at a restaurant near 41 Avenue and 106 Street around 6:40 p.m.
Police had said the girl was vulnerable because she suffers from several disorders and functions at the level of a three to a seven-year-old, depending on her emotional state.
She did not know her address or how to get home, and did not have a cell phone or money with her.
An Amber Alert was not been issued because the case didn’t meet all the criteria.
Edmonton Police said it was grateful to the media for getting the info out so quickly, and thanked the public for being watchful.
