MONTREAL — A gas leak has forced the evacuation of hundreds of people from three buildings in Old Montreal on Wednesday afternoon.
Gaz Métro workers are at the scene and repairs are underway.
According to the Montreal fire department, the leak happened at around 12 p.m. near Notre-Dame and St-Henri Streets.
Crews accidentally cut through a gas pipe.

As a safety precaution, Hydro-Québec cut power to the area, in order to reduce the risk of fire.
No injuries have been reported.
