LETHBRIDGE – It’s been a devastating week for the loved ones of the three people murdered in a west Lethbridge townhouse.
The family of 24-year-old Clarissa and 18-year-old Dakota English are asking for answers in what they believe to be a senseless act of violence.
“It’s complete torture knowing they’re out there running free, while my two children are getting autopsied with their bodies completely pulverized, not looking anything like my children,” said Laurie English-Winters, the mother of two of the victims.

It was 5 a.m. Tuesday when police knocked on her door to tell her that an incident had occurred at her children’s home just a few blocks away.
Later that morning, she was forced to face every mother’s worst fear: Identify the slain bodies of both Clarissa and Dakota.
“They say that God doesn’t give us anything we can’t handle,” said Laurie.

“Well I don’t know if I can handle this. I need my babies. I really miss them.”
Clarissa left behind a five-year-old daughter and two-year-old son. For her sister, Chantelle, the loss is immeasurable.
“Clarissa was my best friend,” she explained. “I could seriously go to her with anything and I wouldn’t feel judged. No one’s ever going to replace her, because there’s nobody like Clarissa.”
Chantelle remembers her brother as a person who could lift the spirits of anyone he came across.
“Dakota was friends with everyone. Everyone he met he made them laugh. He made me laugh every single time that I hung out with him.”
Now, all the English family has are questions about why their loved ones were attacked. They want justice for what they feel was a unnecessary act of violence.
“If anyone has any information at all, any clues, please–our family is begging them to please bring it to the police,” said Laurie. “They need to be found. It’s not fair.”
