Youtuber pretends he’s homeless, tries to give money to strangers in viral video

TORONTO – The premise was simple – turn the tables – pretend to be homeless and try to give money to strangers. The social experiment was called “What if the Homeless Gave You Money?”

The video, created by FouseyTube, whose real name is Yousef Saleh Erakat, has now gone viral after being posted to YouTube. Erakat‘s premise was to see how people reacted to those considered lesser. The reactions to his free cash were surprising – some people swore at and insulted Erakat for offering money.

“I don’t need your (expletive) money you (expletive)! I could buy you!” said one passerby.

Others were appreciative of the gesture and returned the money and tried to give Erakat more money (which he gave back).

“I have a few dollars, why don’t you take more and make me feel rich for the day,” a woman responded to the offer of cash.

The social experiment was conducted near Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Erakat said he did not know what to expect, but was surprised by the interactions.
