Alberta NDP would show public how decisions made on school, hospital projects

Notley says a public accounting of how building proposals are prioritized would end political interference.

She says the Progressive Conservatives have put projects that further their own political interests at the top of the list for years.

She points to new modular classrooms that were bumped up the list by Education Minister Gordon Dirks in a Calgary riding just before a byelection he was running in.

The ethics commissioner ruled Dirks used his office for “blatant political opportunism.”
