MONTREAL – Going back to work after the long weekend wasn’t easy for commuters using the Deux Montagne or Mascouche AMT train lines.
Thousands of people were late as a result of a series of errors.

The 6 a.m. train, which is the AMT’s fullest commuter train, was delayed because of problems at the Mont-Royal tunnel signalling system.

That started a series of slowdowns on the Deux Montagne line.

Some passengers told Global News they were left waiting for up to two hours.
One train was immobilized near the Canora station for a mechanical problem, which reduced train traffic to one lane.
Passengers on the Mascouche line were taken to the closest metro station by STM and AMT buses to relieve heavy delays.

Ambulance technicians were also called to respond to a medical emergency on the stopped train.
