HALIFAX – Nova Scotia’s finance minister says she is preparing a budget that will include some difficult decisions and change.
Diana Whalen says there is a lot of work to be done to balance the books, but the government is committed to that goal.
Whalen says she has held eight public meetings around the province to prepare Nova Scotians for a difficult budget.
Premier Stephen McNeil says everyone has a role to play in restoring the province’s fiscal health.
Nova Scotia is operating with a projected budget deficit of $220.6 million for 2014-15.
Whalen says the budget is still in the works and she has not announced when it will be released.
