WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Goldeyes announce Josh Mazzola will return for the 2015 season. The 28-year-old infielder/outfielder played four different positions last season including first base, third base, shortstop and right field. He played in 97 games last year hitting .265 with 16 home runs and 68 runs batted in.

“Mazz is a special player in this league,” said Manager Rick Forney through a media release. “His offensive numbers for the three years he’s been with us have been very, very good. He produces a lot of extra-base hits and RBI. He’s a great defender as well and can play multiple positions. He has a lot of value on our club.”

This will be Mazzola’s fourth season with the ball club. His best year was in 2012 where he helped the Goldeyes win the American Association championship. His numbers have dipped since 2012 when he batted .308 almost 40 points higher than last seasons .265 average.
