QUEBEC CITY – About 200 nurses took to the streets in Quebec City Wednesday to ask that the Liberal government to invest more money in healthcare in their next budget.
“We’re already short-staffed,” said nurse Frances Jones.
“Many nurses are not replaced when they’re off or sick so the impact is people who are left try to do the job of two or three other nurses, so it’s really really difficult.”
The Liberals are expected to increase healthcare spending by 2.7 per cent – down from 3 per cent from last year.
