Man, dogs escape from burning Saskatchewan house

MIKADO, Sask. – A man and his four dogs were not injured after a house fire in eastern Saskatchewan. The blaze happened Tuesday evening in Mikado off Highway 5.

The Canora Fire Department and Mounties were alerted to the fire around 8 p.m. They arrived to find that the lone residence of the house and three of his dogs had managed to escape.

A fourth dog was found hiding on the property.

The house was destroyed. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation but is not considered suspicious.
