WATCH: As Ross Lord reports, it has been a relentless winter that just won’t let up, and residents in the Maritimes have just about had enough.
HALIFAX – Cancellations and delays are being reported across a wide swath of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick as another winter storm descends on the region.
Environment Canada has issued snow and winter storm warnings for parts of the two provinces, where notices of school closures are piling up as the storm moves in.
Snowfall warnings are in effect for the Nova Scotia counties extending from Halifax to the tip of the eastern shore on the mainland, where up to 20 centimetres of snow is in the forecast.
As well, communities along the province’s Atlantic coast are being warned to prepare for rainfall later in the day.
Winter storm warnings and snowfall warnings have been issued for the eastern half of New Brunswick, where 20 to 25 centimetres of snow is expected.
The ferry service that links Saint John, N.B., with Digby, N.S., has been cancelled for the day, as has the ferry service that links North Sydney, N.S., with Port aux Basques, N.L.
In Newfoundland and Labrador, wind and blowing snow warnings are in effect for much of western Newfoundland and southern Labrador.
