HALIFAX – Five Bridges Jr. High has been added to the list of closed schools for Thursday, February 26.
JL Ilsley High School and Astral Drive Junior High will remain closed on Thursday.
“Further time is required to ensure the existing roof leaks have been repaired, and the buildings are thoroughly cleaned before students return to class,” said the Halifax Regional School Board Wednesday afternoon.
They say that a further update on possible re-opening will be provided on Thursday afternoon.
As previously announced, Beechville-Lakeside-Timberlea Senior Elementary and St. Catherine’s Elementary remained closed with a scheduled re-opening for Monday, March 2.
Doug Hadley, spokesperson for the Halifax Regional School Board, said cost of repairs to Halifax schools could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars even with insurance.
