UPDATE: 2 semis collide on HWY 7 near Kindersley, Sask.

KINDERSLEY, Sask. – Highway 7 is no longer restricted between Kindersley and Fiske after two semis collided. It happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday about 10 kilometres east of Kindersley.

Investigators determined a semi was turning north off of Highway 7 when it was struck by a second semi that was transporting crude oil.

Additionally, a truck pulling a flatbed trailer entered a ditch to avoid the crash scene but the trailer was hit.

Mounties say the semi unit carrying the oil was damaged and leaked. HAZMAT crews from the Ministry of the Environment are working to clean up the site.

The occupants of the vehicles were treated at the scene by EMS.
