The $4.00 drop rate won’t change, but every 10 kilometres will cost $1.10 more.
The rising cost of insurance, repairs and wages, as well as the need for security cameras and G-P-S units are cited as the reasons for the increase.
The hike means Regina’s taxi rides will now be higher in price than those in Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
