Halifax Transit: Service adjustments going into effect over the next 2 weeks

HALIFAX- Halifax Transit will start changing routes and schedule times over the next two weeks to prepare for the Macdonald Bridge re-decking project.

Beginning March 1, the bridge will be closed over night Sundays through Thursdays between the hours of 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Halifax Transit buses will stop travelling across the Macdonald Bridge Sunday through Thursday evenings after 6:30 p.m. starting on Monday, February 23, to coincide with other transit service adjustments.

Halifax Transit says that although many routes will be impacted by the bridge closure and service changes, peak weekday commuting travel will not be impacted.

In order to accommodate passengers during the hours of bridge closure, Halifax Transit will run a shuttle bus services in place of routes that usually travel across the Macdonald Bridge. They will also be increasing service on the Alderney to Halifax ferry route beginning Mar. 2 as an alternative to the bus shuttle for passengers
