LUMBY – RCMP are hoping a tip from the public will help solve a vandalism case at a controversial road building site near Cherryville in the north Okanagan.

Damage is pegged at about $2500.

Lumby RCMP Corporal Henry Proce says “Someone was trying to make a point I suppose.”

He’s referring to opposition in the community to the road building which will provide access to logging sites.

Some people fear the industrial activity will cause destructive landslides.

Proce says a motion activated game camera captured images of people in the area but a suspect wasn’t identified.
