Wednesday Feb. 18th on The Morning News

We’ll get an update on Halifax’s historic Curling Club at 7:15am. The well-known club suffered serious damage this weekend when the roof caved-in under the weight of heavy snow and ice from that Nor’easter on Sunday. We’ll talk with the club’s president to find out how the curling community is coming together to help the club rebuild.

At 7:45am we tune the dials to 106.9 to talk about GotAVoice Radio. The small station began as an added feature to the Gottingen 250 celebrations and has now become a prominent part of the North End community and has found a permanent home online. We’ll talk to organizer Sobaz Benjamin about the impact of the station and the content being generated on a 24/7 basis.

Residents continue to dig out from last weekend’s nasty Nor’easter that dumped more snow on our region. City crews have been working day and night to clear our roads and sidewalks, but it hasn’t been easy, with temperatures rising and dropping again. At 7:50am we’ll talk with the man in charge of Winter Works with the City of Halifax to find out how it’s going and what we can do to help.
