Montreal police arrest and charge suspect in downtown murder

MONTREAL — A suspect connected to a murder at a downtown party in January made a court appearance Friday.

Love-Emmanuel Luberisse, 23, was arrested by Montreal police and faces charges of second-degree-murder.

At around 3:50 a.m. on Jan. 25, a 26-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his upper body in a commercial building at the corner of Ste-Catherine and Stanley Streets.

He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

At the time, police said it was too early to say whether the murder was gang-related.
