One person dies in northern Alberta crash

EDMONTON – A collision in northern Alberta killed one person and sent a second individual to hospital Thursday morning.

RCMP say a pick-up truck collided with a wide load on Highway 881, near Conklin, Alberta, which is about 350 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.

One person died on scene, while a second person was taken to hospital by EMS.

The name of the deceased has not been released as police notify family. There’s no word on the condition of the person who was taken to hospital.

The collision happened at kilometre marker 235, where police closed the road in both directions while they investigated.

The crash happened at around 1:30 a.m.
