Two people injured in Trans-Canada crash involving semi-trailer

CALGARY – Two people were injured in a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near Chestermere on Monday.

EMS were called to the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 791 just before 6:30 a.m.

When they arrived, paramedics discovered a collision involving a car and a semi-trailer.

Two people, both from the car, were rushed to the Foothills Medical Centre in non-life-threatening condition.

One of the victims, a woman in her early 20’s, suffered a soft-tissue injury and possible internal injuries.

The other victim, a man in his mid-20’s, had a serious soft tissue injury to his lower torso.

The driver of the semi-trailer was uninjured.
