WEST KELOWNA–A West Kelowna businessman who was stabbed in his own store is refusing to let the experience change him.
He is, however, hoping the public will help track down the culprit who is still at large.
“I got a really deep cut in my kidney area,” Stuart McKay says, “it was about a five inch blade on hunting knife and it just nicked my kidney.”
It happened on January 11. McKay was tending his second hand store when a man wearing a face covering came in and asked to change a five dollar bill.
As McKay opened the cash box, the man suddenly attacked him with a knife, grabbed a handful of money, and ran.
The thief escaped on a bicycle, but not before the McKay, still bleeding, snapped a picture of him.
RCMP say the suspect is a white man between 30 and 35 years old. He’s described as around five–foot–nine with a slim build.
