Police investigate reports of shots fired in northeast Calgary

CALGARY- Police are investigating after shots were fired in two separate incidents early on Saturday morning.

The first incident was reported around 12:34 a.m. near the Whitehorn Community Centre in the northeast.

Investigators said a man told them he was approached by two SUVs.

The occupants of both vehicles flashed their headlights at the victim before pointing a laser and flashlight  – and then later firing a gun in his direction.

Crews found bullet casings at the scene and bullet holes in a nearby vehicle.

The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, police were called to a second incident in the 6800 blk. of Temple Dr. NE.

Investigators said a woman told them an occupant in a black truck produced a firearm and shot at a nearby vehicle.

Officers are looking for a large black truck in connection with that shooting.

No one was injured in either incident.
