After a frigid weekend, Saskatchewan has set a new one-day record for natural gas consumption.
During the extreme cold warning last weekend , it seems most of us holed up in our homes and cranked our furnaces.
On Sunday when Regina hit a low of -35.8°, SaskEnergy delivered 1.27 PetaJoules of natural gas.
That’s a two percent increase over the last record which we set on December 6, 2013, when we hit a low of -34°.
Since that record was set SaskEnergy has added 7,300 customers.
SaskEnergy says we are breaking records more frequently lately because they keep adding new customers.
