HALIFAX – Police are urging motorists to slow down after a brief snowfall in the Halifax area.
A couple centimetres of the white stuff fell on roads and highways on Thursday morning.
Carr said there has been little traffic on the roads since it is New Year’s Day but several minor accidents were reported after vehicles slipped off the roads due to the light snow.
“People need to slow down because there is snow down,” Carr said.
By mid-afternoon, Carr said police had responded to more than a dozen calls but there were no serious injuries.
He said no charges had been laid in any collisions though one man was arrested on Joseph Howe Drive for impaired driving.
