WATCH: Toronto Police say they are relieved that no one was hurt when a woman unknowingly brought dynamite home to Cabbagetown from Oakville.
TORONTO – A police bomb squad was called to a downtown Toronto home after a woman discovered eight sticks of dynamite – which she initially thought were her dad’s old coin rolls.
Police were called to the house (in the Parliament and Wellesley area) around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The woman was reportedly going through her father’s belongings when she discovered the explosives.
A bomb specialist was dispatched to pack the dynamite and bring the explosives to a safe area at the Leslie Street Spit where the explosives were detonated.
