Longueuil police confirm weekend death was a murder

LONGUEUIL — The man found in a Longueuil home on Saturday night was murdered, authorities confirmed Monday.

Police were called to a home on Jacques-Cartier Boulevard late Saturday night.

Upon arrival at 11:30 p.m., officers discovered the lifeless body of a man in his 50s.

Tommy Lacroix, a spokesperson for Longueuil police, told Global News over the weekend that the death appeared to be suspicious.

A perimeter was set up around the residence where the man was found, while police gathered evidence in order to determine the exact cause of death.

On Monday, police confirmed that the victim was a 53-year-old Asian man, who lived in the home where his body was discovered.
