Shopping local in Saskatoon for Christmas gifts

Watch above: Maygen Kardash looks at some last-minute Christmas gift options from local companies in Saskatoon.

SASKATOON – Christmas is only days away and yet most shoppers still have a few people to cross of their list. Look no further, because Saskatchewan has a bevy of talented artists and retailers with local gifts for your loved ones.

“You don’t need to go online or look far and wide anymore,” said fashion blogger Maygen Kardash. “Saskatoon has so many options for gifts, and it’s always nice to go with something thoughtful that’s from our city.”

Some examples that Kardash brought into the Morning News studio were leather items from the prairie brand, Farmfresh. Available exclusively at Spareparts, the line features shoulder bags, wallets and sunglasses built for a chic farm look.

“Dad’s Organic Market, the Farmers’ Market, these are only a few places you can go to get those last-minute local gifts,” said Kardash. “Believe me, it’s worth it and it gives you a nice story to tell along with that gift.”
