Kane suspended two games for hit

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane has been suspended two games for his hit on Anaheim Ducks defenceman Clayton Stoner.

The check occurred late in the second period of the Jets 4-3 overtime loss Sunday afternoon. Kane received a major penalty for checking from behind and a game misconduct. It was announced early Monday morning that the 23-year-old would face a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety.

Kane will miss the Jets entire roadtrip to Dallas and Colorado as a result of the suspension. The next game the he’ll be able to play is Saturday against the Ducks.

Kane has scored four goals and six assists in twenty games this season.
