Officials tell Global News that a plumber was using a blow torch to thaw a frozen pipe, which sparked a fire in a wall near a storage room and office area.

Students and staff were being moved to a neighbouring school for shelter.

“We are cancelling classes in the east building this afternoon and hope to have all classes running (Tuesday),” said a statement on the Seven Oaks School Division website.

There were no injuries reported.
