Snowfall warning continues for Saskatchewan

REGINA – A snowfall warning for central Saskatchewan and some southern parts of the province continues into Friday.

Environment Canada indicates Regina could see up to 15-25 centimeters of snow by the end of Friday, by 8 a.m. this morning Regina received just over 7 centimeters of snow.

Environment Canada says as of 4 a.m. Friday, 10 or more centimetres of snow has fallen from Saskatoon through to Lloydminster and more is on the way.

Other regions have received 5-10 cm, and snow will move into the Nipawin and Husdon Bay area’s Friday morning.

The snow will taper off overnight and into Saturday morning as an arctic high pressure ridge brings colder and drier air.

Regina will see temperatures drop to minus 27 with the windchill overnight and heading into Saturday the area will only reach a high of minus 22 and with the windchill it will fell more like minus 32.

Snowfall warnings are issued when 10 or more centimeters of snow is expected to fall in 12 hours or less.
