New library coming to Stonebridge neighbourhood

SASKATOON – People in Stonebridge will be checking out books from their very own neighbourhood library in 2016. The new branch in Saskatoon will cost an estimated $1.3 million.

The 5,000 square foot public library will be located near the intersection of Preston Avenue and Hunter Road.

“Our new branch will be in close proximity to new schools and seniors residences and will benefit many young families in the area,” said Zenon Zuzak, director of libraries at Saskatoon Public Library.

“When Meridian Development Corporation approached the library board in 2013 with an invitation to build and lease a new neighbourhood branch, the board decided to act.”

The lease arrangement allows for the option of expanding the library to keep pace with Stonebridge’s growth.
