VANCOUVER – An evacuation forced after a mysterious white powder was found at the Cloverdale Canada Post office this morning has now been lifted.
At about 5:35 a.m. Surrey RCMP say they received a report that a large amount of white powder fell from a package on to the floor. It is not known what the substance is and there have been no injuries, but the Surrey Fire Department Hazmat team was on scene and have evacuated the building.
Police now say the substance was confirmed as not suspicious and determined to be a veterinarian supplement. The owner of package has been contacted, and no criminality is suspected.
