EDMONTON — Ceremonies took place around the country today as millions of Canadians commemorated Remembrance Day.

In Ottawa, proceedings around the National War Memorial carried extra poignancy in the wake of last month’s attack on Parliament Hill.

Meanwhile in Edmonton, people took part in a number of ceremonies around the city. All similar, but also each different in their own way in part because each person reflects in his own way.

“I think about all those that never came back,” said Maj. Cole Peterson, 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Light Infantry.

“From generations before but as well as my own friends that never made it back from Afghanistan.”
