Chrysler recalling more than 566,000 trucks, SUVs

WATCH: Chrysler is calling back more than a half million trucks and SUVs including almost 60,000 trucks in Canada to fix or replace fuel heater housings.

TORONTO – Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 566,000 trucks and SUVs in two recalls for malfunctioning fuel heaters that can cause fires and a software glitch that can disable electronic stability control.

The largest of two recalls announced Wednesday covers almost 60,000 trucks in Canada and nearly 315,000 in the U.S. to fix or replace fuel heater housings.

The models being recalled are 2010-2014 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups as well as 4500 and 5500 chassis cab models.

The automaker said it’s unaware of any accidents or injuries related the defect.

Chrysler Group said the recall comes after an investigation of two cases in which fuel-heater housings showed signs of overheating.

Customers will be notified next month and will be advised when they can schedule service appointments.
