Saskatoon Blades fall to Portland Winterhawks

SASKATOON – Oliver Bjorkstrand was the story on Saturday night.

Bjorkstrand scored three times in the third period to record the hat trick as the Portland Winterhawks cruised by the Saskatoon Blades 6-1 in Western Hockey League play.

Anton Cederholm, Chase De Leo and Miles Koules all chipped in for the Winterhawks (5-9-2).

Adam Henry had a power-play goal halfway through the second period for the Blades (4-9-0).

Bolton Pouliot turned away 24 shots to record the win as Saskatoon’s Alex Moodie made 34 saves in a losing effort.

Portland scored twice on four power-play attempts while the Blades were 1 for 4.

The Blades host the Moose Jaw Warriors Tuesday.
