Family of man stabbed near Coliseum station thanks those who helped save his life

EDMONTON – A young man involved in a stabbing near Edmonton’s Coliseum station has awoken from a coma.

Jordan Lavallee, a Grade 12 student and brother of five, was on his way to his girlfriend’s house early Friday morning when his grandma says someone on the bus started giving him looks.

Police say a fight broke out off the bus. The 18-year-old was stabbed in the back of the head during the altercation.

“A couple of the ETS drivers were very heroic and attempted to stabilize the victim’s condition by providing CPR,” EPS spokesperson Scott Pattison said on Friday.

Jordan’s grandmother is pleading for them to turn themselves in.

“You’ve done a lot of hurt and harm to the family,” she said.

The Lavallees will find out next week if Jordan is paralyzed from the incident. For now, they’re celebrating the little victories, like him waking up.
