LAKE COUNTRY, B.C. — A 22-year-old Lake Country man is facing potential impaired driving charges after an early morning accident. The single vehicle roll-over crash happened in 9-thousand block of Glenmore Road just before 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
“A witness reported that the grey Volkswagen Golf lost control before it literally flew into the air flipping onto its roof,” says Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey. “Police detected an odour of liquor on the driver’s breath and initiated an impaired driving investigation. The driver blew a ‘Fail’ during a test using a roadside screening device but required medical attention and was taken to Kelowna General Hospital for treatment.”
The driver has been released from hospital. He was taken by police to the Kelowna detachment for another breath sample which RCMP say he failed. He is now awaiting a court date.
