Hundreds gather in Eau Claire to walk for AIDS awareness

On Sunday, 700 people converged on downtown Calgary to raise a goal of $110, 000 for  HIV Community Link. The local not for profit helps educate people and support those living with the disease.

According to the organization, between 2010 and 2013, there were up to 240 new diagnoses every year in Alberta. The event is a symbol of support and a call to action to support increased program costs.

The 3 kilometer walk starts at Eau Claire Market’s north plaza and winds its way around Prince’s Island Park.
