Police are looking for witnesses after a man suffered serious injuries following an assault in New Westminster on Wednesday night.
New Westminster police were called to the area of 6th Avenue and 12th Street at 11 p.m due to reports of a fight taking place. After police arrived, they found the suspect had assaulted a local shop owner outside his store and then fled the area.
The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as: Caucasian male, 27 to 33 years old, 5’10”, short sandy brown hair with an athletic/muscular build. He was wearing a white t-shirt and dark sweatpants or blue jeans.
The NWPD Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police (604) 529-2537 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
