WATSON, Sask. – A man was killed and a woman taken to hospital after a crash Saturday on Highway 6 near Watson, Sask.
Mounties say a southbound Chev 2500 truck towing a motor home and a boat lost control on the highway about 10 kilometres south of Watson.
The truck entered the ditch, spun around and rolled onto the driver’s side of the truck.
A 45-year-old Regina man was trapped in the truck and had to be extricated from the vehicle.
He was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
A female passage was taken to a hospital in Lanigan with unknown injuries while a second passenger was examined at the scene. He was released without requiring hospitalization.
Humboldt RCMP say their initial investigation shows the driver lost control of the truck as a result of a tire blowing on the motor home being towed.
The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation and an autopsy has been ordered by the coroner’s officer.
