Assault charges laid after fight at Gaza demonstration

CALGARY- Three people have been charged with assault, after tensions rose at a demonstration about the conflict in the Gaza Strip last month.

On July 18, a rally was held in front of City Hall by pro-Palestinians. Some Israeli supporters showed up, and that’s when a fight broke out between the two sides.

Aziz Madi, 18, and Arlsan Khan, 27, have since been charged with assault, along with a 16-year-old young man who cannot be named due to his age.

They are all scheduled to appear in court on September 15.

He’s described as having dark hair, a slim build and was wearing jeans and a white T-shirt with a DULUX logo on it. He also had white paint on his hands.
