TORONTO – The circus at city hall just got a soundtrack.
Aptly named ‘Entrance of the RoFo,’ the new extension for Google Chrome will play ‘Entrance of the Gladiators’ whenever you read an article about Toronto’s Chief Magistrate, Mayor Rob Ford.
The description of the plug-in says it will provide “musical accompaniment” while reading articles “about the esteemed mayor.”
Listen: Entrance of the Gladiators composed by Julius Fučík
The mayor, and other city councillors have been criticized for childish behaviour at city hall including outbursts and shouting matches with colleagues and the public.
The song was originally composed by Julius Fučík in 1897 but gained popularity in the early 20th century when it was widely used to introduce circus clowns.
