WINNIPEG – Winnipeg Goldeyes’ first baseman Casey Haerther has been named the American Association’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks.

The 26-year-old went 22-for-35 at the plate last week for a .629 batting average in eight games. Haerther also had five doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI. Seven of his eight games were multi-hit outings.

Haerther’s award marks the third time in four weeks and fourth time this season a member of the Goldeyes has picked up player of the week honours.

The league-leading Goldeyes (34-14) will look to extend their franchise record winning streak to 12 games Tuesday night as they open an 11-game homestand against the Sioux City Explorers (20-30).
