LLOYDMINSTER, Sask. – A second person has died after a two-vehicle collision last week near Lloydminster, Sask.

Around noon on June 27, RCMP were called to an accident at the intersection of highways 303 and 16.

Investigators said an eastbound SUV was attempting to turn left across the westbound lanes of Highway 16.

The SUV was struck by a westbound car.

Seventy-eight-year-old Erika Bendick, a passenger of the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers were airlifted to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

The driver of the SUV, 81-year-old Floyd Bendick, died in hospital Thursday.

The driver of car has been released from hospital.
