As of 8 a.m. EDT, no coastal watches were in place for Mexico, however residents along the coast are warned of potentially life-threatening surf conditions.

The good news is that the storm is moving west at 7 km/h and it is expected to continue along that path over the next day or so.

The maximum sustained winds from the tropical storm are 75 km/h with some higher gusts. The National Hurricane Center said that Christina could become a hurricane by Thursday.
