After first taking the riding in a 2010 by-election, PC MPP Steve Clark won with 63.6 per cent of the vote in the 2011 general election, the second highest number of any Tory candidate. The Leeds-Grenville area could charitably be described a “PC stronghold” since the last time they elected someone who wasn’t from the PC or Conservative Party was in 1867.
