REGINA – RCMP in Fort Qu’Appelle are being credited with rescuing a trapped dog from a possible drowning.
On Saturday, May 10 the Fort Qu’Appelle detachment received a call about a dog that was possibly drowning near a river bank.
RCMP members responding to the scene found a male husky trapped in some reeds along the river bank.
No special tools were required to free the dog – just some food and encouragement.
The dog was was taken back to the detachment and reunited with his owner later in the day.
Constables Oman, Dodds, and Muirhead were singled out for their contributions to community policing.
